This week’s Daily Office readings (1 Samuel 31; 2 Samuel 1–5; Psalms 20, 34, 50, 55, 63, 116, and 119:49–72; Acts 13–15; Romans 11:33–12:2; and Mark 4–6) reveal one consistent message.
God’s purpose never changes, though our response to Him often does. God continues to reveal who He is—compassionate, merciful, faithful, and full of grace. Sometimes He calms the storms around us, and sometimes He calms the storms within us. His mercy is greater than our fear, His grace is sufficient for each day, and His desire is to make us whole. That transformation doesn’t happen overnight, but God’s unconditional love never gives up on us.
In the end, God’s invitation is beautifully simple:
“Follow Me.”
The pilgrim’s journey is not about having all the answers. It is about faithfully following Jesus, trusting that the One who began a good work in us will continue shaping us by His grace until the journey is complete.
